SIGIRIYA

Sigiriya, or Sinhagiri, is one of Sri Lanka's best places to visit. It is an ancient rock fortress located in northern Matale District near Dambulla in Central Province. Once an independent royal city, Sigiriya now holds World Heritage status due to its superb preservation as an example of ancient urban planning.
